Thank you everyone who played my game and provided feedback. I went ahead and (hopefully) fixed all the bugs that were found. I also made some gameplay changes and UI improvements.
Gameplay Changes
- Removed the Reel In mechanic.
- It was very strong and hard to balance. It is very hard to find a good spot for this without making it a resource, which I want to stay away from.
- Added a dash
- holding shift for half a second and releasing it launches the player horizontally in the direction they are looking. Allows the player more horizontal movement without the super-strong vertical movement from the reel-in.
- Tweaked the map a bit
UI Changes
- Crosshair now changes color depending on the surface they are looking at
- Red = cannot grapple, Green = normal grapple surface, Blue = special grapple surface
- Gun sway is better
- Updated the controls menu
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where the grapple head would get stuck when shooting a non-grappleable surface that was right next to a grappleable one.
- The grapple would latch onto the grappleable surface while returning.
- Fixed a bug where the grapple tweaks out while returning
- This was due to it behaving differently on lower framerates.
